Representative Work
Mr. Jackson has been involved in the following transactions:
- Counsel to the Province of British Columbia in connection with the $500 million Nisga’a treaty, the first modern-day aboriginal land claims treaty in Canada involving the transfer of approximately 2,000 square kilometres of land in northern British Columbia.
- Counsel to the Province of British Columbia, advising on all land matters, in connection with four Final Agreements with the Tsawwassen First Nation, Sliammon First Nation, Maa Nulth First Nations and In-SHUCK-ch Nation.
- Counsel to the Adex Group of companies in connection with the acquisition and development of 1,500 acres of former B.C. Rail land at Porteau Cove (on Sea to Sky Highway to Whistler). This is a joint venture development with the Squamish Indian Band.
- Counsel to the Concord Pacific Group of companies in connection with the acquisition and development of 2,000 residential units on a portion of Westbank First Nation Indian Reserve on Okanagan Lake.
- Counsel to the Concord Pacific Group of Companies in connection with their $3 billion waterfront development in downtown Vancouver. Once completed, this 204-acre development will include approximately 10,000 residences and close to twelve million square feet of residential and commercial development, including British Columbia’s first strata lot marina.
